About the game

Squares is a game written completely in Javascript. Game play is similar to the games Ataxx and reversi. The playing field is a 7x7 field of squares, where the object is to dominate the field with your color. Player can move into any free square up to 2 squares away. If they move 1 square away, their piece duplicates. If they move 2 squares, their piece jumps to the new square. Any square occupied by an opponent in direct contact (including diagonal) with the square just moved into is taken over by the new player. Players alternate making moves until either the board is full, the other player is eliminated or unable to make anymore moves. The player who controls the most squares wins the game.

Square is written entirely in Javascript and should work on all modern web browsers. There are three versions of squares: standalone XHTML/Javascript, external Javascript include and a AJAX online multiplayer version.
